{"id":1600,"date":"2025-05-09T15:12:16","date_gmt":"2025-05-09T14:12:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.das-int.com\/spotlight\/investment-appraisal-modelling-for-the-nuclear-industry-2-pl\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T10:37:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T09:37:00","slug":"investment-appraisal-modelling-for-the-nuclear-industry-2-pl","status":"publish","type":"spotlight","link":"https:\/\/www.das-int.com\/pl\/spotlight\/investment-appraisal-modelling-for-the-nuclear-industry-2-pl\/","title":{"rendered":"Investment Appraisal Modelling for the Nuclear Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DAS was commissioned to support a nuclear industry client with the development of several <strong>investment appraisal models <\/strong>to support the development of economic and finance business cases for three multi-million-pound projects.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We conducted workshops with each project stream to <strong>capture and identify the financial and non-financial inputs <\/strong>required to develop the models. Using best practice modelling, we then used MS Excel to develop each appraisal models. Our work included <strong>identifying and developing the project scope<\/strong>, determining the model scale and complexity and <strong>defining the model logic <\/strong>and how the analysis would be presented.\u00a0 We then designed the model in collaboration with the client, before it was developed, extensively tested and subjected to rigorous peer review and data validation. We used the analysis our model produced to<strong> develop economic and finance business cases <\/strong>on behalf of our client for three projects. These projects <strong>required approval by Her Majesty\u2019s Treasury <\/strong>and the <strong>department for Business, Energy and Industrial strategy<\/strong>.\u00a0 Subsequently, one project was <strong>successfully approved<\/strong>, and two others were held <strong>ready for approval in subsequent budget
