Decision Analysis Services (DAS) wins Young Energy Professionals (YEP) ‘Team of the Year’ award 2025.
DAS’s Critical Materials team was declared the winner of the prestigious ‘Team of the Year 2025’ award at the YEP awards in November. The awards recognise energy industry professionals with less than 10 years of experience in the energy sector.
The Critical Material’s team were commended for their outstanding work across critical material supply and demand, specifically supporting the delivery of two pioneering foresight studies. Commissioned by the Critical Materials Intelligence Centre (CMIC), on behalf of the Department for Business and Trade, the first study analysed the supply and demand of copper and aluminium for Great Britain’s national grid infrastructure. The second analysed of the supply and demand of critical materials for the UK nuclear industry. Both foresight studies looked out to 2050.
YEP’s Team of the Year Award judge, Rich Hampshire of CGI, said: “I am hugely impressed with what the Critical Materials Team have achieved in a short period of time. This included establishing the team and moving to the performing phase quickly. The degree of stakeholder engagement, collaboration and securing stakeholder buy-in were also noted as being important to the team’s success. The impact of this project on the ability to take informed decisions in a critical and under-recognised challenge in achieving clean power by 2050 – that is, the ability to secure access to critical minerals to meet the growing demand. Very well done and congratulations!”
The studies have contributed significant knowledge of grid infrastructure materials requirements to 2050 and understanding for the nuclear sector on the journey towards achieving net zero by 2050.
