The Role
As a Senior Consultant within DAS's Energy Transition practice, specialising in Civil Nuclear, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the nuclear sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects spanning the entire nuclear lifecycle, where you’ll apply your expert consultancy skills to tackle complex, mission-critical challenges. You’ll take on a hands-on role with significant autonomy to deliver outcomes that directly impact the growth of DAS’s nuclear capabilities, helping us expand our footprint in this rapidly evolving industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Client Engagements: Take charge of strategy development and programme design initiatives within the civil nuclear sector, helping clients navigate both current challenges and future opportunities
- Apply Systems Thinking: Use your expertise in systems thinking and problem-solving to address key issues across the nuclear lifecycle, including organisational development, and developing capability to deliver nuclear new build
- Build Strategic Relationships: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders to ensure long-term collaboration and identify opportunities for further partnership and business development
- Contribute to DAS Growth: Shape DAS’s civil nuclear propositions, driving internal growth by supporting capability development within the practice and ensuring we stay at the forefront of industry needs
- Support Programme Delivery: Play an active role in the successful delivery of nuclear programmes, supporting projects across key locations such as Warrington, Manchester, Bristol, and Gloucester, with occasional travel as required

Requirements
To excel in this role, you should bring a unique blend of technical expertise, consultancy experience, and interpersonal skill. We’re looking for someone who embodies the following qualities and qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or business-related field (Master’s preferred), providing a strong foundation for developing your technical expertise
- Civil Nuclear Expertise: A deep understanding of the civil nuclear sector, with specialized knowledge in a specific area (such as new build, policy, regulation, supply chain, programme and project management)
- Consultancy Mindset: You’re adaptable, solutions-oriented, and enjoy tackling complex client challenges, bringing a strategic approach to every engagement
- Relationship Building: A natural ability to build rapport, establish trust, and form lasting professional relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Strategic and Independent: Confident in developing strategic insights and delivering solutions autonomously while maintaining high standards
- Willingness to Travel: Flexibility to travel frequently across the UK, particularly to Warrington, Manchester, Bristol, and Gloucester, to support key client programmes

The Role
DAS is looking for a Chartered Engineer with Civil Nuclear Safety experience to join our growing Systems Assurance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the nuclear sector and work on high-profile projects spanning the entire nuclear lifecycle. You will leverage your domain expertise and consultancy skills to tackle our clients’ complex, mission-critical challenges while internally, influencing the strategy of our growing technical community. You’ll take on a hands-on role with significant autonomy to deliver outcomes that directly impact the growth of DAS’s nuclear capabilities, helping us expand our footprint during this transformative time for the industry.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Lead Client Engagements: Supporting clients on safety-critical projects, working to find appropriate solutions to their engineering and assurance challenges.
· Support Programme Delivery: Hands-on project work in line with your skills and expertise, for example Safety Case Management and Safety Case report writing, and supporting clients with adoption and embedding of safety practices.
· Build Strategic Relationships: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders to ensure long-term collaboration and identify opportunities for further partnership and business development.
· Contributing to DAS Growth: Enabling DAS’s civil nuclear propositions by driving internal growth and ensuring we stay at the forefront of industry needs.
· Active Ownership: Taking ownership of your professional growth, keeping abreast of industry developments, and driving direction.

Requirements
We are looking for an established Safety Engineer with nuclear sector experience; specifically, a nuclear enthusiast looking for a role that utilises their technical skills alongside opportunities for professional engagement and interaction across the breadth of the industry during this transformative time. We are looking for someone who embodies the following qualities and qualifications:
· Safety Expertise: A Chartered Engineer (or working towards Chartership) with relevant certification, such as IEC61508, IEC61513, or AV2.
· Civil Nuclear Experience: Demonstrable experience in the civil nuclear sector coupled with an enthusiasm and understanding of the market.
